    In this episode, Dr. Clark opens the coffer and answers a question about the nature of the lying spirit in 1 Kings 22:19-23. We have to be careful when asking questions that Scripture do not specifically give us the answers to, but this passage does give us an opportunity to give thanks to God that he graciously chose us and brought us to true faith and new life in Jesus Christ.

    In this episode, Dr. Clark continues the series, "Rome, Constantinople, Or Geneva?" looking at the doctrine of salvation, especially the doctrine of justification. The biblical understanding of our justification for God is that we are justified, or declared righteous, by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. American Evangelical Christianity is in crisis. The story of how it got here is an important part of this series but there are several reasons so many evangelical Christians are discontent and looking for something else, something with historical roots, with a sense of tradition, with a sense of of transcendence, with reverent worship, and with a deeper view of the sacraments. It is the conviction of the Heidelberg Reformation Association that the answer to the longing for more lies not in Rome or in the Eastern Orthodox traditions but, as it were, in Geneva. In this series we will explore the history, theology, piety and practice of Roman Catholicism and the Eastern Orthodox traditions, and we will compare and contrast those two traditions with historic Reformed theology, piety, and practice.
