Primary progressive aphasia (svPPA) also known as semantic variant is a rare brain disorder. It causes people to slowly lose the meaning of words, names or objects, and identities of familiar things or people.

The Key Symptoms are trouble with words, forgetting specific names and using general words instead (like saying "animal" instead of "dog"). Loss of meaning, forgetting what common items do, recognition issues, struggling to recognise familiar faces, voices or objects. Those with Semantic Dementic can develop behaviour changes for example developing strict routines, food preferences, or rigid habits.

Natalie talks about her living experience with Semantic Dementia.
