Super Intelligence

America.gov was released this week

I used super intelligence for this week’s sermon and didn’t like it.

-I shared I don’t want to read it first and have it adjust the lens in which I read and study Scripture.

Bible does not have study notes - just Biblical references

Significance of verse 3 “of those who heard”

  • The message of salvation was proclaimed to those who did not have the privilege of hearing the Lord by those who had been witnesses to his word and deed.
  • In reference to these witnesses, it is not necessary to think of the apostolic company.
  • It is significant that in Hebrews the office of apostle is reserved for Jesus alone (3:1).
  • The highest office the writer acknowledges within the larger Christian community is that of a “hearer,” i.e., one who could testify concerning the truth that Jesus had declared because he had heard the Lord.
  • By speaking of “the hearers” (τῶν ἀκουσάντων), all interest is concentrated on the message, not the office, of those who had brought the word of redemption to the community
