In Matthew 5:3, Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” This verse has nothing to do with physical poverty. Instead, “poor in spirit” is an attitude of the heart, acknowledging that one cannot do anything worthwhile without God’s help. We must petition God for His wisdom and heart in every matter we face. Tune in as we learn about the Lord’s prayer and how it remodels the heart to be dependent on the Lord.

In Joshua 9, Joshua was duped by his neighbors, the Gibeonites, who had conspired to do them harm. When the Gibeonites found out that God was with Israel, they hid their identity and posed as poor beggars hoping Israel would not kill them and instead make a deal not to harm them. This led to a huge mistake on Israel’s part. Tune in as we learn how to make godly partnerships.
