    And asks the question "so what?" - so what difference does that promise make?

    We discover the "what" isn't just that someone or anyone is beside us - it's that He is beside us: the God who created us, knows us completely and delights in us, the God who is our rock, refuge, shield, strength and mighty Saviour.

    In today’s communion message, we looked at one of the most painful and difficult things Jesus said from the cross: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

    Is there comfort for us as we hear Jesus shout about his abandonment? And are there lessons we can learn as well?

    Sue unpacks Psalm 22 and helps us with a plan for those times when God feels distant and our prayers seem unanswered. She reminds us that lament is not a lack of faith, and encourages us to be honest with God - to direct our cries towards him, not away from him. And she challenges us to preach truth to our feelings and to our future, remembering that even when we feel forsaken, we are never actually alone.
