You catch your reflection and for a moment you don't recognize the woman looking back. What if you're not fading? What if you're becoming?
In this episode, Elizabeth (61) talks honestly about one of the quiet fears many women carry as they age: the sense that we're slowly disappearing. Disappearing from who we used to be, from how we used to look, and from how visible and certain we once felt. She looks at the anti-aging messages that surround us, from creams and procedures to the well-meaning "you look good for your age," and how they teach us to see our changing bodies as loss.
Elizabeth offers another way to see it. God never asked us to stay young; He asked us to grow. Growth leaves evidence: in our perspective, our boundaries, our resilience, and yes, our bodies. The years we've lived, loved, lost and kept going have shaped a faith that is quieter, deeper and truly our own. Drawing on 2 Corinthians 4:16, she invites us to stop apologizing for the evidence of our lives and to see the dignity in becoming.
Hard Won Faith is a space for women over 40 who've lived their lives. They aren't untouched or unchanged, but they're still here.
