The execution of Christa Pike failed—and now everyone is fighting over what it means. An all-female Tennessee execution team couldn’t carry out Pike’s death sentence, handing death-penalty opponents a powerful new argument and raising serious questions about the DOC’s preparation and all-female competence.

But amid the outrage, one name is being lost: Colleen Slemmer, brutally murdered by Pike in 1995. Her family waited more than 30 years for justice—and now they’re waiting again. Or, are they glad the woman who killed Colleen has suffered rather than quietly slipped away?

Was the execution team set up to fail? What does this mean for women in corrections? And what happens next?

This sounds like something out of an action movie. South Korean “super criminal” Park Wang-yeol allegedly planned an extraordinary prison escape: use a massive drone to lift him over the walls and carry him to freedom.

The plot involved outside accomplices, testing, careful preparation—and a flying machine powerful enough to carry a grown man. But could it actually have worked?

We break down Park Wang-yeol’s drone prison escape plan, how authorities uncovered it, and one of the most audacious alleged jailbreak schemes imaginable.
