This is it listener, we get the part where some academics went, "hey, this race science crap is nothing. It's, like, based on prejudice. What the heck???" And yet they still did not give up on race being real. See, in America, race science doesn't die because the whole system is set against the people who could tell you the truth of it. Like Black people, for example. And yet, America came a little bit 'round on the concept of race, starting to dismiss it once the Nazis slaughtered lighter-skinned people en masse. But hey, we were starting to get there. And history being the nasty business it is, we can say that this chapter inaugurates a new era of horrifying pseudo-race pseudo-science. But in the meantime, it is technically better than it was. I guess? That's almost something, listener. It's chapter 24 of The History of White People!
