    2026/08/25

Sarah Granger Kimball called herself a “woman’s rights woman”—and she spent her life putting that belief into action. From the earliest days of the Relief Society in Nauvoo to her decades of leadership among Latter-day Saint women in Utah, Sarah was passionate about creating opportunities for women to learn, lead, serve, and lift one another.

In this episode, we explore Sarah’s role in the origin story of the Relief Society and follow her journey to Utah, where she continued her work as a leader in the organization and became involved in the women’s suffrage movement. For Sarah, these weren’t separate causes. They were part of a lifelong commitment to strengthening the women around her and helping them recognize their own power and potential.
