I almost didn't make this.
This week, I questioned my voice. I questioned the writing, the podcast, the posts, all of it. I wondered what any of it really mattered and whether I had anything left to offer.
Then, in the middle of that doubt, two things found me.
A card I hadn't reached for in months reminded me that the light we give to another person doesn't disappear.
And then someone reached for me.
Someone standing in a place I know far too well: exhausted, overwhelmed, afraid, and trying desperately to keep going.
And suddenly I remembered why the lighthouse exists.
I remembered my father.
I remembered the ledge.
I remembered what it feels like when you don't need someone to fix your life or tell you how to climb back up. You just need someone willing to sit beside you long enough that you aren't there alone.
So this first letter is a little different.
It isn't a letter to HER Lighthouse.
It's a letter from the Keeper.
For anyone who has ever wondered if their presence mattered.
For anyone who has questioned whether their voice was reaching anyone.
And especially for the person sitting somewhere in the dark tonight who needs to know that being seen by even one person can matter more than we realize.
Maybe that's how light travels.
One person to another.
One voice to another.
One ledge at a time.
Kindness doesn't have to be earned.
Presence matters.
We'll leave the light on. 💜🩵
