  • #124 - High Expectations, Loosely Held: The Mindset for Modern Dating
    2025/10/14

We’ve all done it. One good date and suddenly you’re imagining the wedding playlist. In this episode of Guyset, I break down what I call the Ted Mosby Syndrome, when your expectations race ahead of reality and set you up for disappointment.

I talk about why so many of us build storylines around people we barely know, how that pressure kills real chemistry, and what it actually means to hold high expectations, loosely. Building on my last episode about how to approach someone at a bar, I share practical advice for handling early dating, managing expectations, and keeping your confidence intact.

The biggest mindset shift: Don’t tie your self-worth to someone else’s approval. When you stop chasing potential and start focusing on reality, dating gets easier, more fun, and a lot more honest.

If you’ve ever felt let down after a first date or caught yourself overanalyzing every text, this episode will help you approach dating with clarity, confidence, and calm.

  • #123 - Ruin The Friendship
    2025/10/07

In this episode, I’m breaking down one of the biggest questions guys in their twenties ask: how to talk to girls at a bar without being awkward.

Walking up to a girl at a bar can feel awkward. You start overthinking, psych yourself out, and end up doing nothing. I’ve been there. We've all been there.

I share the three-step framework that helped me stop overthinking and actually start conversations that feel natural. I talk about how to give a real compliment, what to say next, and when to ask for her number.

More than that, I get into mindset of how to stop assuming you’ll get rejected, how to carry yourself with confidence, and why rejection doesn’t define you.

If you’ve ever stood across the room thinking, “I should say something” but didn’t, this episode is for you. It’s about confidence, connection, and getting out of your own way, because you either know or you never know.

Listen if you want to learn:

    • How to talk to girls at a bar with confidence
    • What to say when you walk up
    • Real dating advice for guys in their twenties

  • #122 - One Rep at a Time: Overcoming Gym Imposter Syndrome
    2025/09/30

I used to walk into the gym and feel completely out of place. Everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing, and I was stuck in the corner wondering how to even start. In this episode, I talk about what it’s really like to deal with gym anxiety, imposter syndrome, and that fear of looking clueless.

This episode tackles the universal experience of "gym imposter syndrome" that most men face but rarely discuss. I reveal exactly how I broke through mental barriers by taking each challenge one movement at a time - a practical approach that transformed not just my fitness journey, but my entire mindset toward obstacles.

I share how I went from hiding in my own little space at the gym to finally building the confidence to move around, ask for help, and try new workouts. It wasn’t easy—I psyched myself out for months—but learning to break things down one rep at a time changed everything.

And this isn’t just about lifting weights. The same mindset applies to life, work, and relationships. Just because you’ve done something once doesn’t mean it’ll always be easy. But if you take it step by step, you’ll realize you’re capable of more than you thought.

In this episode, I get into:

    • My experience with imposter syndrome at the gym
    • Why nobody is actually paying attention to you when you’re working out
    • How finding a starting place gave me confidence
    • Why breaking big challenges into small steps makes them manageable
    • How showing up consistently builds strength in and out of the gym

Whether you're struggling with gym anxiety or facing any overwhelming challenge, this episode offers actionable strategies for pushing past self-imposed limitations and discovering what you're truly capable of.
