• ONE NATION: Why the major parties are on the nose with shooters
    2026/01/25

It's no wonder One Nation is doing well in the polls.

In our case, it's because Labor has gone after shooters in WA, NSW and federally, while the Liberal Party hasn't been the opposition party it once was.

  • OZ GUN HISTORY: Here’s a must-see video on the history of guns in Australia
    2026/01/18

WE INTERVIEW Malcolm Drinkwater from the History Hill Museum about a DVD set he produced titled "The Long and the Short of Firearms". This is a two part series covering nearly 3.5-hour series of our local firearms history from gunpowder basics through to modern developments.

We’re covering it because it’s so good. We’re doing this because we were so impressed with the quality and relevance to the use of firearms at home. We are receiving nothing for this – because that’s not what we’re in this for. Nor were we asked to do this. We’re doing this because we were genuinely impressed by what we saw.

While many of us know the broad history of firearms, much of it is learned from overseas resources. However, Malcolm brings it home by examining the impact of firearms, especially through the gold rush era, to modern day. He covers the use of firearms in the bush, specialised saddle designs for light infantry, and how metal was forged.

The series dives into the development of the rifle range at Hill End in New South Wales, shows how target shooting sports grew, and documents how successive governments have worked to dismantle them over the years.

He covers the evolution of muskets, flintlocks, lever actions, bolt-action rifles, cartridge evolution, and black powder, all with stunning production quality.

Malcolm’s knowledge of Aussie history is genuinely impressive and makes the material come alive.

This is perfect for shooters – so if your other half needs a birthday hint, then here’s a great idea. It’s also great for parents of teen history buffs – because it means you can “buy it for them” and nick it back off them later when you want to watch it 😉.

  • BONDI MASSACRE: Texan hero proves how it could have turned out differently
    2026/01/15

THE SHOCKING Bondi tragedy at a Jewish gathering has ignited fierce debate on Australia's draconian gun laws—but is self-defence a missing piece?

In this episode, we dive deep into the argument around self-defence and look at how things could have turned out quite differently if our politicians looked at this logically.

Should innocent people like you and me be able to protect ourselves?

We draw on history where 71-year-old deputy sheriff Jack Wilson went from parishioner to hero in just 6 seconds after dropping a shotgun-wielding gunman at West Freeway Church of Christ in Texas.

There were around 240 people at the church, which means Jack’s brave actions saved many, many other lives.

Bondi was different. The entire Jewish gathering were sitting ducks.

We’re not making out an argument for this one way or the other, but if PM Anthony Albanese and NSW Premier Minns were serious about finding real solutions, then this is a debate they need to at least be prepared to have.

  • Decorated firefighter of 35 years goes on strike "over government overreach on firearms"
    2026/01/09

NSW RURAL FIRE SERVICE VOLUNTEER, Robert Warren, a decorated firefighter with 35 years of service, speaks out about NSW's rushed gun law changes and why he's taking a stand.

After receiving the Premier's Commendation and National Emergency Medal for the 2019-20 bushfires, Rob explains why he's now on a "quiet strike" from RFS duties—refusing to serve a government that's punishing law-abiding firearms owners for the failures of criminals and agencies.

Robert discusses the deeply personal impact of arbitrary firearm limits, including having to give up family heirlooms.

He shares his message to fellow RFS volunteers who may be firearm owners: NOW is the time to act.

He encourages shooters to contact their local MPs, sign petitions, and support legal challenges like the McDonald Law fundraiser.

This isn't just about guns—it's about government overreach, broken promises, and the disrespect shown to rural Australians who've given everything to their communities.

The March 2027 NSW state election is coming. Make your voice heard.

  • CURTAILING GOVERNMENT: Why a legal precedent from a NSW challenge could benefit us all
    2026/01/04

A LEGAL CHALLENGE against NSW's rushed gun laws could produce something that could benefit the shooting sports for the next twenty years.

NSW Premier, Chris Minns, and his government will fight hard to avoid losing this legal challenge, but the real question we see is what, if any, legal precedent could be set if these challenges go ahead.

A successful High Court or Supreme Court challenge could establish a legal precedent that could limit what governments can do on firearms legislation.

That’s something no state, territory or federal government would want to see – because currently they do what they want, without anyone looking over their shoulders.

That’s where the right legal challenge could unpick this – which, if we’re right, could put a stop to the sort of attacks on shooters we saw happen in NSW and recently in WA.

The right sort of decision by a brave court could help go a long way to helping protect the future of our sport.

  • 4 GUNS ARE NOT ENOUGH: Here’s why the NSW limits won’t work
    2026/01/02

WE TALK ABOUT how the new gun limits in New South Wales' recently passed firearms legislation will severely limit what hunters and target shooters can do.

The new laws will limit hunters to just 4 firearms and target shooters to 10. We explain why these limits are inadequate for legitimate shooters.

SEAN FRAZER walks us through his own hunting journey, that shows how easily you can exceed 4 firearms when going after rabbits, ducks, foxes, deer, and pigs. That’s because these require different calibres and configurations.

That’s before you get to the needs of target shooters and farmers.

Plus, we look at how family involvement can quickly chew up that number - because licensed children must have their firearms registered under their parents' licenses.

FOR TARGET SHOOTERS, the situation is even more restrictive. We discuss how competitive shooters across multiple disciplines—including bench rest, metallic silhouette, and handgun competitions—need way more than 10 firearms to compete properly.

WE ALSO COVER the three active fundraisers supporting legal challenges against these laws, which have raised over $300,000 combined - but need significantly more is needed to fund proper legal challenges. You can check them out here:

  • DAVID LEYONHJELM ON BONDI: Why a Royal Commission is needed
    2025/12/30

WE TALK WITH former Senator David Leyonhjelm about the growing calls for a Royal Commission into the Bondi Junction tragedy.

We look at the differences between Royal Commissions and Coronial Inquests and why only a Royal Commission can answer the questions that the public is asking. Importantly, it can dive into our questions of why any changes to our gun laws were needed.

We look at why the federal Labor government is resisting a full Royal Commission, the implications for firearms policy in New South Wales, and concerns about government accountability following the incident.

David draws compelling parallels with the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, raising many unanswered questions about that investigation and its long-term policy consequences.

In fact, if there is no Royal Commission into Bondi to answer the questions, there’s a good chance that the same questions, room for conspiracies and distrust of the government of the day from Port Arthur, will simply repeat themselves.

    So will the political anger.

With families of victims now publicly demanding a comprehensive inquiry, this discussion examines what a Royal Commission could reveal about intelligence failures, policy enforcement gaps, and whether current responses adequately address root causes.

This is essential viewing for anyone interested in Australian politics, public safety policy, and government transparency.

  • NSW GUN LAWS: We take you through what the new laws mean for shooters and dealers everywhere
    2025/12/27

IN OUR 100TH EPISODE of Gun News Australia, we go through the final shape of the new gun laws that recently went through the NSW parliament.

NOTE: The legislation has passed but has not yet come into effect. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAND ANY GUNS IN NOW because the government has not put any arrangements in place.

We take you through what the new legislation says and the fallout that will hit the Liberal Party, which supported the bill.

We discuss the terrible impact the new laws will have on shooting in NSW and elsewhere and the economy, including the possible loss of up to a third of NSW dealers. Plus hunters will be limited to four firearms – which is, in many cases, completely unrealistic – and why they need to be part of the political response to this.

You can see the amendments here: https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/bill/files/18853/Passed%20by%20both%20Houses.pdf

These need to be read in conjunction with the existing Firearms Act 1996 which you can see here: https://legislation.nsw.gov.au/view/whole/html/inforce/current/act-1996-046#sec.8

WE ALSO ENCOURAGE shooters everywhere to donate to the two fundraising campaigns to support anticipated legal cases in the High and Supreme Courts. These fundraisers involve using trust accounts – which means “The Kate Factor” that many shooters got caught up with earlier this year, is not there.

Shooters can be assured the donations will go to the court actions they seek.

Click here for a link to McDonald Law’s fundraiser.

.. and click here for a link to the Terra Australis fundraiser.

WE ALSO LOOK at the blunt message that Federal Labor MP and champion shooter, Dan Repacholi, gave to his own side of politics on the NSW Government’s kneejerk reaction – and why the ban on biathlon guns looks like it was inspired by the 40 year plus old James Bond film, “For your eyes only”.
