The Memphis Grizzlies face the Atlanta Hawks in their season opener with rookie Micah Peavy starting at point guard following the waiver of D'Angelo Russell. We analyze how Brendan Hausen fits into the backcourt rotation and whether Peavy can secure an All-Rookie First Team spot early. Topics include pick-and-roll execution, rim protection strategies, and managing rookie minutes against a physical Atlanta squad.

Key players discussed include Micah Peavy, Brendan Hausen, and D'Angelo Russell. We cover the impact of waiving Jordan Hawkins, the health status of the roster, and the tactical adjustments needed to counter Atlanta’s trapping defense. Scott breaks down the importance of avoiding turnovers while Peavy learns the NBA pace.

Our predictions remain steady on a 28-win season, emphasizing growth over immediate dominance. We highlight Peavy’s potential for a double-digit assist game and discuss how the new backcourt chemistry will define the early schedule. Listeners get a clear look at the Grizzlies' path forward.
