  • Living a Life That Matters Success or Significance?
    2026/09/13

What does it really mean to live a successful life? Is success measured by money, titles, awards, possessions, or the number of people who know your name or is there something greater?

In Episode 9 of the Being Your Best Self series, Dr. Gregory Harris challenges us to move beyond simply pursuing sucess and begin pursuing significance.

A successful life may be measured by what you accomoplish, but a significant life is measured by the lives you touch along the way. Your greatest legacy may be what you leave inside the people you've encouraged, taught, loved, served, and inspired

You don't need a huge platform to make a difference. Sometimes significance happens through a conversation, an encouraging word, helping someone in need, mentoring a young person, serving your community, or simply being there when someone nees you.

God has given each of us gifts, experiences, wisdom and opportunities that can be used to make somebody else's life better.

Greg's Corner Podcast with Dr. Gregory Harris

What if some of the most painful experiences of your life could eventually become a source of hope for someone else?

In Episode 8 of the Being Your Best Self series, Dr. Gregory Haris explores what it means to move through grief, loss, disappointment, rejection, and life's unexpected challenges without allowing those experiences to define your future.

Pain changes us but it doesn't have to destroy us. Sometimes the very experiences that deepen our faith, strengthen our compassion, and prepare us to encourage someone walking through a similar valley.

Dr. Harris shares from his own jorney of grief and loss, including the passing of his daughter, Tramaine Marie Harrs, and reflects on how faith helped him continue moving forward while using his experiences to minister to and encourage others.

Healing doesn't mean forgetting. Moving forward doesn't mean the person or experience no longer matters. It means learning how to carry the memories, lessons, and love forward while continuing to live with purpose.

Your pain is part of your story but it doesn't have to be the final chapter.

Ask yourself: What have I survived, what had it taught me, and how can I use wht I've learned to help someone else?

"Don't waste what you survived. The story that brought tears to your eyes may one day become the testimony that puts hope back into some else's heart."

This episode can be one of the most personal and powerful installments in the series because it connects grief, faith, healing, and purpose rather than suggesting that becoming your best self means never expereiencing pain.
