The digital world isn’t going anywhere. Which means avoiding it isn’t an option! As parents, our call is to disciple, not simply shield. In this episode, we talk about how to guard our children’s hearts (and our own) while navigating phones, social media, games, and the nonstop noise of online culture.
We share practical tools (like filtering software, screen boundaries, and intentional device habits) alongside the biblical truths that shape how we lead our families. You’ll learn how to create a safe environment for your kids to talk openly, how to respond with grace when they’re exposed to something harmful, and why modeling healthy digital behavior matters more than anything.
This episode is packed with real stories, practical steps, and gospel-centered guidance to help you parent intentionally in a tech-saturated world.

------------------
1. PROTECT - Safeguard What They See and Hear
HOW WE DO THIS:
Accountability software on every device (Covenant Eyes).
Delayed phones until they can drive.
Smart watches are locked down so kids can only text approved contacts.
Computer access only in public spaces (living room/kitchen).
Limited game time and intentional game selection.
Careful about music, YouTube, movies—content that shapes values.
2. EQUIP - Preparing Kids for What They Will Encounter
HOW WE DO THIS:
Teach Them What to Do When They Encounter Something Wrong.
Look away immediately.
Tell a parent right away.
Process feelings with you (shame-free).
Normalize letting your kids come to you.
“You’ll never get in trouble for something you unintentionally saw or heard.”
3. DISCIPLE - Form a Biblical Worldview in a Digital Age
Teach Them Why Purity Matters:
Seeing people as image-bearers
Honoring God with our bodies and minds
Protecting their future marriage
Psalm 119:9 NLT
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
4. MODEL - Kids learn more from what you do than what you block.
If you want your teen to put the phone down at dinner, show them your phone is down too.
If you want them to look away, you look away.
If you want them to have healthy boundaries and accountability, create them for yourself too.
