Continuing in Acts, chapter 16, Paul and Silas respond to suffering in a remarkable way—not with despair, but with prayer and worship. Acts 15 tackles a major challenge in the early church: how Jewish and Gentile believers could become one family without adding requirements to the gospel of grace. Through the Jerusalem Council, we’re reminded that salvation comes by grace through faith alone—but spiritual maturity calls us to something more: willingly laying down our freedoms for the sake of others and living lives of purity that reflect Jesus. As followers of Christ, we’re called to pursue both unity within the church and a distinct, faithful witness to the world.
