Abraham’s agonizing journey up Mount Moriah becomes a window into the heart of God, who provides the substitute sacrifice. The story points forward to the greater Son who carries the wood of His own offering and is given back from death. In the Easter season, we see that God’s provision is not abstract—it is Christ Himself.

In Genesis 12:1–7, God calls Abram to leave what is familiar and step into a future shaped not by his own plans but by God’s promise, presence, and blessing. In the risen Christ, that same call comes to us: the God who raised Jesus from the dead invites us into a new life marked by trust, obedience, and a hope that reaches beyond what we can see. The story that shapes us is a story of resurrection-shaped calling—God leading His people into a future secured by the One who conquered death.

Genesis 3:1–15 shows humanity’s trust collapsing under the serpent’s lie, yet even in judgment God speaks a promise that evil will not have the last word. On Easter morning in John 20:1–18, that promise comes to life as Jesus rises in another garden, revealing that the One who was wounded has now broken the power of the deceiver. The story that shapes us begins with a wound that seemed final, but it is completed by a risen Lord whose victory restores hope, dignity, and communion with God.

In Genesis 1:24–31, God creates humanity in His image and entrusts us with a vocation of stewardship, dignity, and blessing—an identity meant to shape every part of our lives. Yet the fullness of the image we were made to bear is revealed most clearly in Jesus, the true Image of God, who enters our fractured world to restore what sin has distorted. On Palm Sunday, we see the King who rides in humility to reclaim His creation, renewing in us the calling first spoken over humanity in the beginning.

At the cross, Jesus completes the road He has been walking with unwavering love and purpose. Mark reveals the crucifixion not as defeat but as the moment when Jesus’ identity and mission shine most clearly. This Sunday draws us to stand before the cross in awe, gratitude, and renewed hope.

As Jesus moves toward Jerusalem, He teaches His disciples that greatness in His kingdom looks like service, sacrifice, and surrender. Mark shows us that following Jesus means letting Him reshape our ambitions and expectations. This Sunday challenges us to embrace the costly, beautiful way of Christ.

Jesus fulfills Isaiah’s promise, proclaiming good news to the poor and freedom to the captive. He clothes His people with garments of salvation and righteousness. In Him, the year of the Lord’s favour has come, and His Kingdom brings everlasting joy.

Christ invites the thirsty to come and drink freely of His grace. His Word brings life, accomplishing God’s purposes and satisfying our deepest hunger. In Him, we find joy, peace, and abundance that never runs dry.
