  • Why God Alone Is Worthy to Rule
    2026/09/03

In Revelation 4, John is given a breathtaking vision of heaven’s throne room, where all creation declares that God alone is worthy to receive glory, honor, and power. In this sermon, Pastor Jeffrey Johnson explores what it means for God to be the perfect King—the One who alone possesses the wisdom, holiness, justice, mercy, and power necessary to rule over all things.

From God’s righteous judgment and sovereign protection of His people to His authority over angels, nations, and the human conscience, this message reminds us why no earthly ruler can occupy the place that belongs to God alone. Around His throne, the redeemed willingly cast down their crowns and worship, declaring, “You are worthy, O Lord.”

The sermon ultimately points forward to Revelation 5 and the One who is worthy to approach the throne: Jesus Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah and the Lamb who has prevailed. He alone is the King of kings and Lord of lords, worthy of our trust, submission, worship, and praise.

  • How to Overcome Spiritual Apathy
    2026/08/25

In this message from Revelation 3:14–22, Jeffrey Johnson addresses the danger of spiritual apathy through Jesus’ words to the church at Laodicea. Spiritual lukewarmness can develop gradually—even while we continue attending church, reading Scripture, and maintaining outward religious habits. The searching question is whether our greatest desire is truly to know and glorify Jesus Christ, or whether other good things have quietly taken first place in our hearts.

Johnson points listeners first to the faithfulness of Christ, contrasting Jesus’ unwavering devotion with our inconsistency. He then emphasizes the danger of lukewarm Christianity and our need to recognize our spiritual poverty rather than becoming satisfied with past growth, knowledge, or blessings. Yet Christ’s rebuke is an expression of His love: He calls His people away from complacency and back into wholehearted fellowship with Him.

The sermon concludes with four responses for overcoming spiritual apathy: zealously pursue Christ, zealously repent, zealously seek communion with Christ, and zealously live for eternity. Rather than building our lives around temporary possessions, accomplishments, relationships, or comfort, believers are called to treasure Christ and the eternal inheritance He promises to those who overcome.

  • What Jesus Says to You When Life Feels Too Heavy
    2026/08/17

In this message from **Revelation 3:7–13**, Pastor Jeffrey Johnson examines Christ’s words to the church in Philadelphia—a church with “little strength” that nevertheless remained faithful. Rather than telling struggling believers to look within themselves for greater strength, Jesus acknowledges their weakness and directs their attention to His sovereign power. He is the One who opens doors no one can shut and shuts doors no one can open.

Pastor Johnson presents **seven powerful truths for the weak**, emphasizing that Christ knows our weakness, remains with us, provides opportunities for faithfulness, loves His people, preserves them through trials, promises them a crown, and will ultimately make those who overcome like pillars in the temple of God. The Christian’s hope is not that every hardship will disappear, but that Christ will faithfully sustain His people through them.

The message ultimately calls believers to **hold fast to Christ**. Though Christians may feel weak, overlooked, or overwhelmed in this present age, their strength and security rest in the One who rules over every circumstance. Our lasting hope is not found in an easier life now, but in Christ’s return, the New Jerusalem, and an eternity dwelling in the presence of God.
