  • The Night the Billboard Changed — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/07
In the summer of 2019, off a forgotten exit on I-40 in eastern Tennessee, a single billboard began rewriting itself. Luna's cousin, a trucker named Danny, was the first to notice the numbers changing every time he passed. Then the name. Then the message. Then the face. By the third week, the billboard was showing a photograph of Danny's childhood bedroom—and beneath it, a countdown. This is the story of a road that refused to stop talking, a billboard that knew too much, and the last night Danny ever drove that route alone.

  • The Barber of Bitter Creek Road — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/06
Late October 2017, on a desolate stretch of Oklahoma highway, Luna's car breaks down outside a town called Bitter Creek — one gas station, one diner, one barbershop that never closes. The barber's name is Emmett. He's been cutting hair in that chair for forty-seven years. But nobody in town remembers him ever leaving the shop. Luna waits for a tow truck and watches through the window as he trims a man's neck with scissors that seem too sharp, too deliberate. The haircut ends. The customer leaves without a word. And then Luna sees something on the barber's floor — a curl of hair that looks exactly like her own. This is a story about the things that pattern our lives without us noticing. It's about repetition, and about the one night Luna felt watched by a man who was only ever doing his job — but doing it a little too perfectly, for a little too long.

  • The Hollow House on Stillwater Lane — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/05
In the fall of 2019, Luna's car broke down outside a small town in eastern Kentucky. The only mechanic in town was a man named Elias, who worked out of a garage beside a house that had been abandoned for fifty years. As she waited for a repair, she heard a story about the house — a story about a mother who lost her son and never stopped calling for him. But some calls don't end. Some houses remember. Luna tells you about the woman she met on Stillwater Lane, and the sound that came from the attic window that night. A story about grief, echoes, and the things we refuse to let go of.

  • The Night the Highway Ate Us — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/04
In the summer of 2008, a dry lightning storm swept through the high desert of eastern Oregon. I was nineteen, driving home to Bend from a friend's funeral in Burns. The highway was empty, the sky was purple, and somewhere between Wagontire and the turnoff for Glass Buttes, I saw a woman standing at the side of the road. She was wearing a yellow dress. No car. No phone. No shoes. I stopped because she was crying, and I have been trying to un-see what happened next ever since. This is not a story about hitchhikers. It is about the things that wait on long straight roads at three in the morning, the things that wear human shapes just long enough to get inside your car. I don't know if it was a person or a memory or something older than both. But I know one thing: when I looked in my rearview mirror, the road behind me was gone. Just black. Like someone had erased it. And she was in my back seat.

  • The Last Bus to Vacherie — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/03
In the winter of 2019, the 11:35 p.m. bus from Baton Rouge to Vacherie, Louisiana, carried exactly one passenger who didn't buy a ticket. Luna's cousin, a Greyhound driver named Ray, picked up a woman at a gas station on Airline Highway — no luggage, no coat, just a single question she asked every rider she met. By the time they reached the bayou parish line, the bus had gone quiet in a way that had nothing to do with sound. Ray doesn't talk about that shift. But he told Luna everything: the child's drawing taped to the back of seat 17, the way the woman's reflection moved a half-second behind her body, and the phone call he made at 2:14 a.m. that no one answered. This is what he saw in the rearview mirror on a road that doesn't appear on any GPS map.

  • The Drowning Tree of Pender County — Fexingo Horror
    2026/05/02
In the autumn of 2019, I spent three weeks in a borrowed cabin outside a town called Pender's Mill, North Carolina. The town was small and quiet, the kind of place where everyone knows your truck before they know your name. I was there to write, but the writing never came. Instead, I found myself walking the same stretch of Old County Road 17 every evening, past the blackwater creek and the live oaks draped in Spanish moss. There was one tree in particular—a massive cypress at the bend in the creek—that seemed to draw my eye every time. I started noticing things about it. The way the water moved around its roots, the sound it made when the wind picked up, the fact that I never saw any birds land in its branches. By the third week, I had stopped writing altogether. I was just watching. And then one night, the tree started watching back. This is a story about a place that doesn't forget, and a tree that remembers everything.
