For spiritual entrepreneurs, caring deeply about their work is often part of the calling. They want their websites to feel aligned, their emails to sound authentic, their programs to genuinely serve, and every part of the client experience to reflect the heart behind their work. But sometimes that beautiful desire to create something meaningful can quietly turn into perfectionism, leaving projects endlessly revised, refined, and waiting to be released.
In this quick-tip episode of the Money Lighthouse Podcast for Spiritual Entrepreneurs, Michel explores the freeing practice of embracing “good enough for now.” Drawing from her experience helping spiritual entrepreneurs with technology and business systems, she shares why creating the first workable version is not the same as lowering your standards. In fact, allowing something to be used, experienced, and tested often gives you the very information you need to make it better. Your website, systems, offers, messaging, and business are not monuments carved in stone. They are living things that are meant to evolve as you and your clients evolve.
Michel also explores the important difference between excellence and perfectionism. Excellence comes from care, while perfectionism can sometimes come from fear: fear of criticism, getting it wrong, or releasing something before it feels completely finished. “Good enough for now” offers another path. It invites spiritual entrepreneurs to trust themselves enough to create, release, learn, refine, and keep moving forward.
Action Steps
- Identify one thing you have been overworking. Look for a webpage, email, offer, automation, course, piece of content, or business decision that you have been unnecessarily tweaking, researching, rewriting, or postponing.
- Ask, “Is this good enough for what it needs to do right now?” Instead of judging it against an imaginary perfect version, consider whether it effectively serves its present purpose.
- Release it and gather real-world information. Publish the page, send the email, activate the automation, offer the program, or make the decision. Notice what actually happens rather than trying to anticipate every possible problem beforehand.
- Give yourself permission to refine as you grow. Expect version two, version three, and perhaps version twenty. Adjustments are not evidence that the first version failed. They are evidence that your business is alive, responsive, and evolving.
Journaling Prompts
- Where in my business might my desire to create excellent work have quietly turned into perfectionism or fear of releasing it?
- What would “good enough for now” look like for something I have been postponing, polishing, or overthinking?
- What might become possible if I trusted myself to release something now and trusted my future self to improve it when the time comes?
Your business does not need to be finished, and neither do you. Sometimes the wisest next step is not to ask, “Is it perfect?” but instead, “Is it ready enough for the next step?”
Listen to this episode whenever perfectionism, overthinking, or endless tweaking is keeping you from moving forward. And if you know another spiritual entrepreneur who cares deeply about their work but could use a little permission to loosen their grip and let something wonderful begin, share this episode with them.
