In this episode of Golf Rehab, Pete and James sit down with Jamie Eid, a golfer who only picked up a club around 11 months ago, but quickly became completely obsessed with the game.

Jamie shares how golf entered his life during a period of major change, how it helped quiet his mind and become a reset from the pressures of everyday life, and why he now sees golf as much more than just a sport.

We talk about his rapid progression, the impact of a knee injury on his game, his goal of becoming a more consistent golfer, and the lessons he's learned about managing expectations and resetting after a bad shot.

Jamie also opens up about his mental health journey, therapy, male friendships and why he believes the golf course can be a place where men are more comfortable talking about what's really going on.

We also get into Jamie's huge social media journey, from starting an anonymous mental health account to building an audience of around 800,000 followers — and what happened when he decided to shift his content towards golf and personal growth.

Plus, there's plenty of banter, golf obsession, equipment talk and a few stories from the golf day that brought us all together.

This is Golf Rehab at its best, honest conversations, golf, laughs and the occasional admission that we might all have a problem.

This week on Golf Rehab, Pete finally gets one over James… and he’s going to make sure everyone knows about it.

The boys break down Pete’s dramatic match against James, including a pressure-packed finish, a few questionable putting performances and the moment Pete finally got the win.

They also run through the biggest stories from the week in golf, including Jacob Bridgeman’s incredible 61 to win the Biltmore Championship, JJ Spaun’s BMW PGA Championship victory at Wentworth, and Jay Hall’s first professional win.

Then things get interesting. Tony Finau’s very unusual putter setup gets a closer look, Tiger Woods is back hitting golf balls, and the boys discuss what a return to competitive golf could look like for him.

Plus, one of the strangest moments of the week: a caddie literally drops the bag and walks off mid-round after an apparent argument with his player.

And finally, the boys answer the listener question: Who would be your dream guest on Golf Rehab? The answers range from Anthony Kim and Adam Scott to Steve Irwin, Peter Brock, Shane Warne and Diego Maradona.

As always, golf, gear, tour stories, plenty of banter and two golfers trying to work out why they keep making this game harder than it needs to be.

  • Golf Rehab Episode 7 - Josh Armstrong: PNG Open Winner & A Chat With His Mate

Send us a message, or your questions

In this special episode of Golf Rehab, James sits down with his good mate Josh Armstrong, fresh off winning the PNG Open, and Pete gets to jump in with a few questions of his own.

And because this is Golf Rehab, there’s plenty of banter along the way — including James giving Josh plenty of stick, Pete getting very interested in the stinger, and a few stories that probably wouldn't make it into a traditional golf interview.

What starts as a chat between mates quickly turns into a look inside the reality of professional golf: from Josh growing up in Canberra and becoming Australia’s number one junior, to the Junior Presidents Cup, turning pro, travelling the Aussie circuit, and even sleeping in his car to get to tournaments.

Josh talks us through the PNG Open win, including the wild back nine, the crucial moments on 15 and 17, THAT STINGER, and how breathwork helped him keep his head when the tournament was there to be won.

We also get into his putting, his very specific five-degree-loft putter, playing alongside some of Australia’s biggest golfing names, and what winning the PNG Open means for the next few years of his career.

A genuine chat with a good mate about the highs, lows, sacrifices and ridiculous moments that come with trying to make it as a professional golfer.

    2026/09/14

Send us a message, or your questions

This week on Golf Rehab, Pete's putting has officially become a problem, and he's starting to wonder whether a putting lesson might be cheaper than buying another putter.

Pete and James get stuck into the week in golf, including Shane Lowry's huge Irish Open win, the Solheim Cup, Carlotta Ciganda's ruthless revenge, Charlie Hull's questionable headwear and the latest drama surrounding LIV Golf.

There's also plenty of Australian golf chat, including the Wagga Pro-Am, the NSW Regional Open, Pete's new status as a "senior" golfer and the early-morning round at Beverly Park that ended with Pete being attacked by a magpie.

The boys also discuss their plans to play 72 holes in a day for Kids' Cancer, including a rather dangerous new donation challenge, and hatch a plan to hit 200 shots between them in an attempt to make a hole-in-one.

Here is the link to donate: https://www.longestday.org.au/fundraisers/golfrehab

Then things get a little more serious as they talk about golf's mental side — from Charlie Woods losing his temper to Sergio Garcia's putting demons and Zach Johnson's four-outcome mindset.

Plus, the listener question of the week: what's the best golf course you've played in Australia or anywhere in the world?

Another week of golf, gear, travel, tour news, questionable decisions and absolutely no sign that either of these two is recovering.

This week on Golf Rehab, Pete has officially gone back to the drawing board with his putting — while James has plenty to say about it.

The boys get stuck into putter fitting, changing putters, why amateurs often overlook the club they use the most, and why new equipment can take longer to adjust to than you think.

James also tackles this week's listener question on wedge bounce and grinds, explaining how your swing, turf conditions and the courses you play should influence your wedge setup.

There's plenty of tour talk too, including the incredible economics of trying to make a living as a professional golfer, the Walker Cup comeback, the Presidents Cup teams, Adam Scott's continued form and what's happening on the Australasian Tour.

The boys also discuss course management, creative shot-making, the damage being caused by e-bikes on golf courses, staying SunSmart on the course and why Pete might need to add a bucket hat and more Sparms sunsleeve colour choices to his golf wardrobe.

Plus, a new listener Q&A segment, some questionable golf advice, plenty of banter and a few more equipment confessions.

And there's more to come, with special guest Jamie Aide and recent tour winner Josh Armstrong joining Golf Rehab.

Pete's putting has officially reached crisis point.

In Episode 4 of Golf Rehab, James stages a putting intervention as the boys break down Pete's struggles on the greens and debate whether the problem is the putter… or the player.

They also get into blade vs mallet putters, whether Pete really needs a 60° wedge, why higher-lofted clubs can make golf easier, chipping with less loft, and the ongoing battle with slow play.

Plus, the latest from the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and the start of the Australian golf season, including Scottie Scheffler's dominance, Adam Scott's incredible major streak and Josh Armstrong's win at the PNG Open.

There's also a look at the Good Good and Callaway fallout, the debate over using a tee on par 3s, and plenty of stories and banter from the Kids Cancer Project golf day.

  • Golf Rehab | Episode 2: Four-Putts, Practice & Keeping Golf Real
    2026/08/17

Send us a message, or your questions

In Episode 2 of Golf Rehab, Pete and James are back — although this week they're recording from different locations.

They kick things off with the latest from professional golf, including Scottie Scheffler's dominant playoff performance, the FedEx Cup ranking system, Rory McIlroy's early playoff struggles, the US Amateur and some of the emerging players worth keeping an eye on.

Then things get a lot closer to home.

Pete talks through a brutal day on the greens at Oatlands — including a four-putt that he is still having nightmares about — before explaining why he's switched back to his LAB putter with a new SuperStroke grip. James breaks down why putting can be so heavily influenced by perception, feel and confidence, and why changing something as simple as a grip can completely change how a putter performs for an individual golfer.

The boys then tackle one of the biggest problems with amateur practice: going to the driving range and simply smashing balls.

James explains what a professional range session with purpose actually looks like, why you should have a goal before you start hitting, and why hitting 100 balls as quickly as possible probably isn't the practice you think it is.

They also discuss whether golfers should wear headphones while practising, the difference between a serious practice environment and a busy range like Moore Park, and why simply hitting more balls doesn't necessarily mean you're getting better.

And then there's golf social media.

Pete and James talk about why golfers are constantly posting their best shots, why showing the bad ones can actually make your content more relatable, and how easily golf content can create unrealistic expectations about what the average golfer should be capable of.

Pete even admits to claiming a 245-metre drive that may or may not have received some assistance from a sprinkler. 😂

Finally, James introduces Pete's first official Golf Rehab challenge.

For the next week, Pete has to stick with ONE putter and complete a specific six-foot putting drill designed to improve face control and start line.

No changing putters. No excuses. No escaping the challenge.

We'll find out next week whether it actually works.
