Then we look at Jesus, the second Adam, facing the tempter in the wilderness. This time the response was different: “It is written.” Jesus stood on the Word of God rather than entertaining doubt.

That is the heart of this episode: when doubt sticks up its head, don’t entertain its shenanigans. Stop the cycle before it gets moving. When doubt asks, “Did God say?”, faith can answer, “God DID say.”
