In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by confronting one of the most difficult battles of the heart: unforgiveness.
Using Matthew 18, Colossians 3, and Ephesians 4, they explore what forgiveness really means—and what it does not mean. Forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation, restored trust, or pretending the offense never happened. It is the decision to release the offender from the debt we believe they owe us.
Together, Kendall and Pastor Brad unpack Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant and the powerful reminder that people who have received extravagant grace are called to extend grace to others.
They also walk through three practical steps for battling unforgiveness:
Decide. Depend. Obey.
Decide to forgive, even before you feel like it. Depend on the Holy Spirit for the strength to release the offense. Obey Christ because we have already been forgiven.
Key Scripture: Matthew 18:21–35 Colossians 3:13 Mark 11:25 John 20:19–23 Ephesians 4:32
Listen in and reflect:
Is there someone whose debt you are still trying to collect?
