Welcome back, to the first episode of 2025 – we touch briefly on some Oscars discussions (this was all recorded in early February), but we dive into one of the major ones we have both seen, A Real Pain, as well as a couple of movies we made time for end of last year – one stinker and one good one. You'll have to listen on to hear what it is. We also get into some TV show discussion in the later half of the episode (and even a brief mention of a video game adaptation of a film).

This last year was a bit of an odd duck compared to 2023, which we talk about. There's some waxing and waning about why that is...art is not a science, so we may not know specifically why, but we are enjoying the art we have at our disposal any given moment.

Please bear with us, as life has been hitting us kind of hard lately and it is difficult for us to get around to recording, let alone watching, movies together. But we are slowly cracking on through our list and plan to still put out episodes this year. Go See A Movie (when you can)!

A very quick episode where we talk about our thoughts on My Old Ass, It Ends With Us, and (briefly) Joker: Folie à Deux.

It’s our annual summer episode! This year we discuss three films we saw during the summer time and it’s…sequels on sequels on sequels. Some might call it “sequelitis.” Our three candidates this year are: Deadpool & Wolverine, A Quiet Place: Day One, Inside Out 2. Which one is our favorite? Find out on the next episode of GSAM!

Jack and Steph return after some summer shenanigans to share some contrasting thoughts on the latest batch of films they have seen: Civil War, Challengers, and The Fall Guy. Or is it Fall Guy? You'll have to listen and find out. Usual discussions include creative intent, content warnings, and tonal decisions. At the end of the day, we look to be entertained, and here are our various reasons why these films did (or didn't) stick with us. We also look at some future films we are thinking of seeing in the second half of 2024.

Steph and Jack embark on the next chapter of their grand podcasting adventure. They touch on all the films they saw that were released in the previous calendar year and land on their definitive top 10. While they definitely don't agree on everything, the conversation brings them closer together (like any good rom com). They briefly look ahead at some upcoming films and enjoy the typical conspiracy theory banter.

And the Academy Award goes to...Oppenheimer AGAIN?!

Jack and Steph break down the totally predictable 96th Annual Oscars Ceremony with their thoughts on how the ceremony went overall, the abundance of snubs, and what they wish they would have seen out of the ceremony (and what they liked from what was chosen).

The sequel episode also takes a left turn in the final act to talk about what is their frontrunner for film of the year in 2024 already - Dune: Part Two. Plenty of thoughts and opinions all around...plenty of opportunities to Go See A Movie. Double the runtime, double the fun (*defeated sigh at own joke*).
