We are so excited to welcome Susanne Shepherd Post back to the podcast!

Last year Susanne featured on Episode 75 of the podcast. In this episode Susanne shared her story and the inspiration behind founding Shear Haven to help educate beauty, wellbeing and hair professionals giving them confidence to listen, recognize and respond to signs of abuse.

Today’s episode Susanne shares the Shear Haven has educated over 157,000 professional globally and the training is available in three languages - English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Susanne Shepherd Post is an award-winning stylist, salon owner, and advocate who co-founded Shear Haven in 2017 alongside the YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee.

What began as a local training initiative is now a global movement: more than 156,000 professionals in 100+ countries have completed Shear Haven’s free 20-minute online domestic violence training.

A survivor herself, Susanne has also been a driving force in policy change.

In Tennessee, her work helped pass a state law requiring this education for all licensed beauty professionals, and today she is advocating for the federal bipartisan SALONS Stories Act in Washington, D.C., which would encourage other states to follow.

Her mission is to ensure every beauty professional - and ultimately every community - has the tools to listen, recognize, and respond to the signs of abuse.
