When it comes to the world, we must realize that we need to overcome it, and we must go about it the right way. Some don’t seem to realize there is any problem with the world, and others try to remove themselves from the world, but neither approach is what our Lord wants. We must realize that only by our faith in Christ and being born of God have we already overcome the world and we are empowered to continue overcoming it. May we emphasize our relationship to Christ and fill ourselves with things that will build our faith as we live in this world.

In a slight change of pace, Jones spends the majority of this message on the writing style of John rather than the specific content of this chapter, and it is really good to read and talk about! How can we better view the Christian life as a walk that encompasses every aspect of our lives? How can we take inventory of how we are doing in our growth in Christlikeness? May we live our whole lives for Him.
