🎙️ Episode 41C — Companion Episode
Church People Get on My Nerves… Now What?
Loving Difficult Christians Without Losing Your Peace
The lesson is over. The prayer has been prayed.
Now… what does this actually look like in real life?
In Episode 41, I Love Jesus… But I Don’t Like Church People, we talked about church hurt, forgiveness, boundaries, and Jesus’ command to love one another.
But what about the Christian who hasn’t necessarily deeply wounded you…
They just get on your last nerve? 😅
The one who always has an opinion.
The one whose personality rubs you the wrong way.
The one you see across the sanctuary and suddenly think, “Lord, You said love my neighbor… You didn’t say I had to sit beside her.”
Welcome to the Companion Episode—the conversation after the lesson and prayer.
Kara and Misty are back at the table talking honestly about what loving difficult Christians looks like when faith meets Monday morning.
We’re getting practical about:
❤️ Loving someone without pretending they're your best friend
❤️ The difference between someone who irritates you and someone who is actually harming you
❤️ Forgiveness, trust, and healthy boundaries
❤️ Knowing when to let something go—and when something needs to be addressed
❤️ Praying before you react
❤️ Why you don't have to win every argument
❤️ The uncomfortable possibility that we might be somebody else's difficult church person
And one question may hit closer to home than all the others:
When difficult people encounter me… do they encounter Jesus too?
Church is full of imperfect people—including us.
We're going to misunderstand each other. We'll need grace. We'll need forgiveness. Sometimes we'll need boundaries. And sometimes we'll need the humility to simply say:
“I was wrong.”
But whatever happens…
Don't let imperfect Christians make you walk away from a perfect Christ.
