With little rainfall a wolf and a fox have little to eat so they decide to go and live with a lion and try to get some of his food. They compliment the lion so much that he decides to keep them. They lion decides to test their loyalty only to find that the wolf is always hungry and the fox is very clever.

This is a story about not being greedy. A snail and a hedgehog would like to have a piece of the sun for themselves. They devise a plan to climb a tree and take a piece of it. As the snail climbs up the tree the sun goes behind the clouds and it starts raining. They wait for the sun to come out but it doesn’t. They are ashamed of their idea and ask the sun to shine on everything and everyone. Soon the sun does just that and the two friends bask in the rays of the sun and take a wee nap!

This is a great story about winter wind wanting to have some fun on his birthday. He decides to play with Farsi words and goes to the zoo. He sees a bird called bolbol in Farsi. He takes the first letter b and puts it in his pocket. He then goes to the fox called roobah in Farsi and takes the r and puts it in his pocket. Finally he goes to the elephant called fil in Farsi and takes the f. He then leaves the zoo and on his way to the city he sees the autumn wind. He pulls out the letters and they spell brf which is the Farsi for snow. The autumn wind thinks this is great because when the winter winds blow in Iran, snow isn’t far behind!

This is a story about a beautiful rooster who loves to hear stories. He hears stories about the cunning fox. One day as he is walking he hears the fox and jumps up a tree. The fox tries to trick him by telling him that the king of the forest has decreed that no animal can kill and eat another animal so the rooster is safe to come down. Just then a big dog approaches them and the fox starts to run away. The rooster asks about the king of the forest’s decree. The fox says that it is true but he was worried that the dog might not have heard the decree!

This is a story about a hen who is lame and can’t get to the grains that the farmer brings every day for all the chickens and roosters. She is getting weaker and thinner everyday until she devises a plan to get to the farmer first. There is a fence between the chickens and the farmer’s house. Because she has become so thin she can fit through the fence and waits for the farmer to bring her cloth bag of grains. While the farmer walks to the chickens our hen pecks at the cloth bag and makes a hole it. As the farmer walks to the rest of the chickens our hen eats all the grains that fall out of her bag. Soon she is too big to fit through the fence but by then she has enough strength to fend for herself. When she has her own chickens she tells them to also use their brains as well as their brawn!

This story involves a group of friends who exclude another because they think he is useless and a wee bit scary so why take the time to get to know him or her. The group is made up of an elephant, a goat and a chicken. The excluded animal is a small green dragon with black polka dots on its back. One day off they go, leaving the wee dragon behind. But the dragon follows them. Each animal helps the others along the way. When they get tired, the elephant carries them, when they get hungry the chicken lays eggs for them and when they get thirsty the goat gives them milk. Meanwhile the wee green dragon with the black polka dots wishes he could join them. All of a sudden they become very cold and the dragon goes up to them and offers his fire breath to warm them. Now all four friends like each other.

An ant and a wasp become neighbors. The wasp can’t understand why the ant works so hard to store food and thinks the ant is greedy. The ant tells the wasp that the food is for a rainy day. The wasp takes the ant on one of his journeys to eat food and despite being warned by the butcher to stop eating his meats he continues and loses one of his wings. The ant teaches the wasp a lesson in humility and grace!

A wee mouse wants to go to a festival of cheese and cookies only to be told by her mum that she has to take care of an old and sickly crow. Despite her tremendous disappointment she goes to the crow’s house and makes her what we would call a hot toddy and cleans her house. The wee mouse feels great about herself and a silver coin and a beautiful ring that the crow gives her is just a cherry on top of the cake!
