For years, I travelled without leaving my chair.
Music opened rooms without walls, letting cities I had never seen enter my imagination. Then photography arrived, asking something both simpler and harder: to go. To step into the light, into distance, into the unexpected.
I moved through cities of stone, voices, markets, kitchens and churches. Yet it was not the places themselves that stayed with me longest. It was the faces. The waiting at bus stops. Hands behind a counter. A lit window at the close of day.
For me, travelling has meant learning to remove something from the way I look: judgement, habit, the certainty of already knowing. It has meant leaving my own reality at the threshold for a while, so that I might enter someone else’s.
This video gathers fragments of that journey. Photographs, music and moving images come together not to trace an itinerary, but to hold what remains after returning: a city still echoing within, and a gaze that is no longer the same.
