• Generous Without an Agenda: 2 Corinthians 9:6 on Sowing and Reaping | Holy Shift Devotionals
• Series Umbrella: A Time for Every Purpose
• Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:6 (NIV) — "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."

Desiree Day opens with a memory almost everyone has — breaking a cookie in half and quietly making sure your piece is the bigger one. That childhood instinct becomes the doorway into today's message on real generosity, anchored in 2 Corinthians 9:6: "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."

She shares the story of a husband who thought he'd tithed a $20 bill and realized afterward he'd actually given a $100 — and his wife's response, "you only gave with the spirit of 20," reframes what real generosity actually costs. Dez gets honest about the difference between giving with an agenda and giving for the glory of God alone, plus a story from last year of obeying God's prompt to "jump" with zero expectation of return — and watching Him provide back in abundance.

This week's Holy Shift Action: notice every opportunity you get to be generous this week, and ask yourself honestly — are you doing it for something, or for Him?
