In this episode we go back in time with longtime Geelong recruiting guru Stephen Wells. Stephen reminisces about his career, reflects on some of special moments during his time in the game.
Stephen, whose affiliation with the Geelong Football Club spans more than 40 years, was an accomplished footballer in his own right, playing SANFL, VFA, and QAFL football, which included a senior premiership with Southport in the 1980s.
Stephen has been in charge of Geelong’s recruiting system since 1994, taking over from the legendary Bill McMaster, and has become one of the most highly regarded recruiters to have ever worked in the game.
In this episode, Stephen talks about his start at the Cats, his greatest recruiting influences, along with his recruiting philosophies, the advancement of technology, and the club’s premiership success.
