Welcome back to another episode of Gathered & Scattered, an exploration of this question that’s been gnawing at me for years: what’s the point of church? I love that one of the first things that all the gospel writers agree on is that it didn’t take long for Jesus to find his people after he stepped out of the Jordan and into his public ministry. We all know he called the disciples, but we often think about it in terms of evangelism and not community. I think we’ve got that backwards.
I want to invite to join my family and a few others as we begin to gather in person and give some shape to a community that we hope will echo more closely the one we see Jesus building with his disciples. We’ll begin meeting on Sunday, September 13 at 5:00pm at the Blackbird Creative Studio in downtown Laurel at Union Hall. The more the merrier. Drop me a message if you have any questions!
