⚡💜 WANNA DATE? FRANKENHOOKER RETURNS IN GLORIOUS 4K! 💀 In today's episode of Gary Talks Physical Media, Gary takes a look at Synapse Films' new 4K Ultra HD release of FRANKENHOOKER (1990), one of the most outrageous horror-comedies of the early 1990s! From Frank Henenlotter, the twisted mind behind Basket Case and Brain Damage, comes a gloriously bizarre reimagining of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, complete with mad science, exploding body parts, outrageous practical effects, and plenty of dark humor. James Lorinz stars as Jeffrey Franken, an eccentric young scientist whose fiancée, Elizabeth (Patty Mullen), is killed in a freak lawnmower accident. Determined to bring her back to life, Jeffrey begins collecting replacement body parts from New York City sex workers, using a deadly substance called Super Crack to carry out his increasingly insane plan. The result is a wildly entertaining cult classic that could only have come from the wonderfully demented imagination of Frank Henenlotter. ⚡ In this episode, Gary explores: 🎬 The movie's outrageous story, performances, and dark comedy 💜 Frank Henenlotter's distinctive approach to cult horror 💀 The practical effects, makeup, and unforgettable exploding body parts 🌃 The gritty New York City atmosphere and 1990s exploitation aesthetic 📀 Synapse Films' new 4K transfer and overall picture quality 🌈 Color, contrast, detail, and HDR presentation 🔊 Audio quality and special features 📦 Packaging, collector value, and whether it's worth upgrading More than 35 years after its release, Frankenhooker remains a favorite among cult horror fans and physical media collectors.
