Something Is Happening: Can a Garth Concert Bring Us Together?

There's something special happening on Garth Brooks' arena tour, and this time, we're not just hearing it from the fans. We're hearing it straight from Garth himself!

On September 13, 2026, Garth published an open letter titled "Something Is Happening...", describing a feeling he's experiencing onstage that even decades of performing haven't prepared him for.

And after attending arena shows in Indianapolis, Denver, and Salt Lake City, Deb has a few thoughts about that!

The Garth Channel has gone quiet…again. 🎙️💔

In this solo episode of Garthology, Deb takes a look at the change, remembers what made The Garth Channel such a special place for fans, and talks about what she hopes might be part of whatever Garth is planning next.

From deep cuts and live performances to behind-the-scenes stories, G-ology, T-Time with Trisha, and those wonderfully personal Garth moments, The Garth Channel offered something beyond a playlist—it gave fans another way to feel connected.

And since Garth and Trisha suddenly have a few radio segments in need of a home…Deb has a completely selfless solution. 😉

Garthology is officially volunteering its services.

G-ology? We’ll take it.

T-Time with Trisha? Absolutely.

Stories from the road? Come on over.

Garth and Trisha dropping by just to talk about whatever they want? We can clear the schedule.

We have microphones. We have enthusiasm. We have Pete and Jess. And Deb is apparently now also the booking department. 😂

All joking aside, Deb also looks ahead to the newly announced multimedia and radio initiative expected from Garth and asks the most important question: What would YOU want from whatever comes next?

On September 11, 2026—the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001—Garth Brooks performed at Chicago’s Allstate Arena. During the concert, he paused the celebration to acknowledge the significance of the day and shared something Deb hadn’t remembered: Garth was in New York City on September 11, 2001.

In this episode, Deb talks about Garth’s memories of that day, including seeing tanks on the streets of New York and turning on the radio only to hear his own song, “We Shall Be Free.” Garth explained that from that moment forward, the song meant something different to him.

Deb explores how that can happen for us as fans, too. The recording doesn’t change—but sometimes our experiences completely change what we hear in a song.

She also looks at three songs Garth performed during the Chicago concert and the message they take on when considered together:
