Some of the deepest grief we'll ever experience comes without a funeral.
The friendship that ended. The relationship you had to walk away from. The childhood you never got to experience. The dreams you had to let go of. The version of yourself you no longer recognize. The life you thought you'd be living by now.
In this deeply personal episode of Become Her, Sis, we're talking about the kind of grief nobody really prepares us for. The invisible losses we carry, the goodbyes we never got to say, and the complicated emotions that come with grieving people, places, dreams, and versions of ourselves that are still very much alive in our memories.
Because sometimes you can make the right decision and still grieve what it cost you.
✨ In this episode, we're diving into:
- Why grief isn't limited to losing someone through death.
- The heartbreak of outgrowing friendships and relationships.
- Grieving the childhood you deserved but never experienced.
- Mourning the woman you used to be while learning to love the woman you're becoming.
- How changes in our health, bodies, careers, and dreams can create unexpected grief.
- Why missing someone doesn't necessarily mean they belong in your life.
- How gratitude and sadness can exist at the same time.
- Learning to honor your losses without allowing them to define your future.
We're also talking about something that doesn't get discussed nearly enough: the pressure to turn every painful experience into a beautiful lesson.
Sometimes you don't need to find the silver lining.
Sometimes you don't need to explain how the experience made you stronger.
Sometimes you just need permission to say, "That hurt. That mattered to me. And I'm sad that it ended."
You can love someone and know you cannot have them in your life.
You can be grateful for the woman you've become and still grieve everything the younger version of you had to endure.
You can be excited about your future and still feel sadness for the life you thought you'd have.
And you can miss something without wanting it back.
Two things can be true at the same time, sis.
Maybe healing isn't about finding a way to make every loss feel okay.
Maybe it's about giving yourself permission to acknowledge what mattered, feel what you need to feel, and continue building a life that makes room for both your grief and your joy.
Because not every goodbye comes with closure. Not every loss makes sense. And not everything you grieve is something you want to return to.
You can be grateful for where you are and still grieve what it took to get here. 🤍
