In this episode, Rob shares his journey from working in sports media at ESPN and Fox Sports to becoming a real estate agent in Houston—and eventually building Surge Realty.
Originally from Queens, New York, with parents from the Dominican Republic, Rob spent years living in different parts of the country before moving to Houston. After getting his real estate license in 2016, he entered a new market where he didn’t know anyone and had to build his business from the ground up.
Rob talks about how he transferred the communication, engagement, and people skills he developed through his sports media career into real estate. After years of working as an agent, he recognized an opportunity to create something bigger—an environment where agents could have the culture, support, resources, and leadership he felt were missing.
In 2021, he launched Surge Realty.
Rob also talks about the importance of:
✨ becoming a leader, not just a top-producing salesperson
✨ creating a culture where agents can grow and succeed
✨ giving back and helping others provide for their families
✨ learning the real estate business instead of simply getting licensed
✨ investing in your marketing, brand, and personal growth
✨ learning from successful people and implementing what works
✨ building relationships and creating a strong pipeline for future business
For Rob, success isn’t just about making money. It’s about creating opportunities for the people around him, helping agents become better, and building something that allows everyone to grow together.
This episode is a powerful look at what it takes to build a real estate business from the ground up—and why leadership, service, consistency, and a willingness to invest in yourself can make all the difference.
🎧 Tune in to hear Rob’s story, his journey into real estate, and the mindset behind building Surge Realty.
