How many names can we hear before we finally stop and ask why?

Trey Reed. Javion Magee. Tory Medley. And now, new names have emerged.

Since the first episode , I've continued digging into reports of Black Americans found hanging under circumstances that have raised questions for families, communities, journalists, and investigators.

In Part 2, we examine several newly reported cases from 2026—including cases in Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, and Mississippi.

Some deaths have been officially ruled suicides.
Some remain under investigation.
Some have been challenged by the families of the deceased.

And that's important.

Because this episode isn't about telling you what to believe. It's about asking whether we've asked enough questions.

We examine the circumstances surrounding these deaths, the investigations that followed, the evidence that has—and hasn't—been made public, and the historical context that makes the discovery of a Black person hanging from a tree in America impossible to discuss without acknowledging the legacy of racial terror and lynching.

Mississippi receives particular attention, given both its history and the number of similar cases reported there in recent decades.

I'm not here to manufacture answers. I'm here to ask questions. Because if these deaths were suicides, the families deserve the truth.

And if they weren't…they deserve the truth even more.

What happens when we stop looking at mysterious deaths and disappearances as isolated stories—and start mapping the people, institutions, technologies, and timelines around them?
