Fresno State football fell 38-31 to Boise State in the Battle for the Milk Can, but Matt Entz and the Bulldogs still have plenty to play for in the Pac-12 championship race. Did Fresno State prove it belongs among the conference's best teams despite the loss? We're joined by Al Scott of Fresno Sports Magazine to break down Fresno State's performance against Boise State, the biggest concerns moving forward and why the Bulldogs still have a realistic path to the Pac-12 Championship Game. Jayden Mandal delivered one of his more productive performances, throwing for over 200 yards and two touchdowns without committing a turnover. But Fresno State struggled to establish its rushing attack. With Rayshon Luke and Bryson Donelson dealing with injuries, the Bulldogs couldn't consistently run the football behind an offensive line that's also battling injuries. And the defensive struggles were just as concerning. Boise State rushed for 274 yards behind Dylan Riley and Sire Gaines, converting all four fourth-down attempts and controlling the second half. Fresno State had just three offensive possessions after halftime. We examine whether Matt Entz's defense has a growing problem stopping the run, why the Bulldogs struggled in the trenches and what needs to change before their next matchup. But the season is far from over. At 4-2, Fresno State still has opportunities against San Diego State, Oregon State, Utah State, Texas State and Colorado State. Could the Bulldogs finish with nine wins and earn another opportunity to face Boise State in the Pac-12 Championship? We discuss why the Oregon State matchup could determine Fresno State's championship hopes, whether the Bulldogs can get healthy during their upcoming bye week and why there's still reason for optimism in Fresno. Plus, we recognize Fresno State legend Logan Mankins joining the program's Ring of Honor. The Bulldogs lost the Milk Can, but their championship hopes are still alive. #FresnoState #Pac12Football #BoiseState Photo Credit: Mark J. Rebilas -IMAGN
