Every week, same four girls in the back row of my undergrad class at UCF. Cliff notes, flashcards, quizzing each other before I even started teaching, and after every exam, the same reaction: "none of the questions looked like anything we studied."
They'd done everything right. I'd lived that exact frustration myself years earlier as a bad test taker who had to train himself from scratch. Watching them fall apart, I wasn't watching a stranger's problem anymore.
This is the story of the moment The Learning Liaisons actually started, and the "80% strategy, 20% content" philosophy that's driven everything I've built since.
