  • Interview - Jez Watts - Comedian
    2026/07/07

Jez talks about being a comedian, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.

My favourite quote of the episode is "Less experienced comics are, are, are really actively learning from older comedians, more experienced comedians, sometimes to their detriment. Like, a lot of people will have an instinct of like, "Oh, I want someone to tell me how to do this," right? And that ends up becoming this blind alley of growth because, a more experienced comedian can only teach you how to be a worse version of them, and then ultimately you actually have to find your own path. And there's all infinite variation in comedy, and then what works for you will be different than what works for someone else. And so almost everyone who starts is, like, begging, 'cause it hurts so much to bomb on stage, they are begging people who don't bomb or don't bomb as much, right? 'Cause u-ultimately you should bomb to be growing."

  • Interview - Ethan Kavanagh - Digital creator
    2026/07/14

Ethan talks about being a digital creator, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.

My favourite quote of the episode is "And it really worked, and people really appreciated it, and I was like, "Well, maybe I have more skills than I realise." So that was a real highlight. Taking these projects that I'd spent years figuring out how to- what to do with them and, finding just creative solutions and ways to share them with people in, in ways I would have never thought. So it was a... That, that would be the overarching highlight, is just, using these skills that I've built up over time in ways that I'd, I'd might not have had the confidence to or would have thought was, was possible for me. But I just had a crack and it, and it worked out, and it makes you realise what, what you can do versus what you're doing now. Like, you can always make the leap."

  • Interview - Amanda Owen-Tucker - Speed Boat Racing
    2026/07/21

Amanda talks about being a speed boat racer, what it takes, what it means and how you do it.

My favourite quote of the episode is "I was ready for the gold medal, the song, the National Anthem. And I was, as I said, second last. But I had worked really hard for that. I had worked, early mornings practising. Tim being a fantastic coach, telling me how to do this and that, and the other. Learning to read the waves and all of these things I had never done before all came together for me to pass one person. And then the next race, I passed two people and then the next event I won a race. Wow. You know, people always think of a goal. Yes, I'm gonna be the first at this, I'm gonna be the first at that. No, it's all the little steps to take to get there. Then that's what you need to do."
