Have you ever been hurt so deeply that forgiveness felt impossible? In 1 Nephi 7:20–21, Nephi's brothers plead for forgiveness after binding him and attempting to leave him in the wilderness to die. Nephi's response is extraordinary: he “frankly forgave them all.” His example teaches us that forgiveness doesn't mean pretending the hurt never happened, excusing wrongdoing, rebuilding trust immediately, or remaining in an unsafe relationship. Forgiveness means releasing resentment, placing justice in God's hands, and allowing Jesus Christ to heal our hearts. In this episode, we explore the difference between forgiveness and trust, why healthy boundaries can coexist with Christlike forgiveness, and how the Savior can help us release wounds that feel impossible to overcome. Forgiveness doesn't erase the past—but through Jesus Christ, it can keep the past from controlling our future. Scripture: 1 Nephi 7:20–21 If this message resonated with you, comment “I will strive to forgive,” or share how forgiveness has helped you move forward. Remember: The Lord is aware of you. He loves you. And He will guide you through your wilderness. Until next time, keep holding to the iron rod.
