  • When you surrender to God it will happen - An Odyssey Tale
    2026/08/04

Odysseus didn't find his way home through strength. He found it through surrender. For years he fought, schemed, and tried to force his way back to Ithaca — and for years, it cost him. It wasn't until he was stripped down, humbled, broken of his own self-reliance, that the way home finally opened. Not through more effort. Through less striving.

There's a lesson in that for every man still trying to white-knuckle his way to where God's calling him.In this video, I break down Odysseus's journey as a picture of what happens when a man stops striving in his own strength and finally surrenders — to God, to his design, to being nothing more and nothing less than what he was made to be.

That's not weakness. That's the doorway. If you're a man in the striving season — trying to force breakthrough instead of surrendering to it — this one's for you.

  • Named After a Liar: What Jacob Taught Me About Fighting for My Blessing
    2026/05/04

My dad named me Jacob. For years I didn't understand why — because every time I read Jacob's story, I saw a man who was reckless, afraid, and running. Not exactly the picture of wisdom.

But then I read it again. Slower.

Jacob is one of the most human figures in all of Scripture. He schemes, he loves deeply, he runs, he works, he struggles — and through all of it, God never lets him go. Until one night at a river called Jabbok, where Jacob stops running and decides to fight. Not with a weapon. With his hands wrapped around the one thing he's always needed — the blessing that was already his.

That night he walks away with a limp and a new name. Israel. He who struggles with God and overcomes.

This episode explores what it means to stop running from the thing that was always yours — and what it costs to finally contend for it.

The wrestle is real. So is the blessing on the other side.
