In Episode 10 of Gospel Unfiltered, host Cornell Bunting sits down with Dee Dee Smith for a powerful conversation centered on the biblical story of Esther and what it teaches us about courage, identity, preparation, influence, and purpose.

Esther’s story is more than the story of a woman who became queen. It is the story of someone who was positioned in a place of influence before she fully understood why she was there.

Together, Cornell and Dee Dee explore Esther’s journey from loss and hidden identity to courage, advocacy, and action. The conversation examines what it means to recognize when God has prepared you for a specific moment and how faith, wisdom, prayer, timing, and courage all work together when purpose requires something from us.

This episode also explores:

• How adversity can shape strength and resilience
• The difference between favor and responsibility
• Why timing matters in difficult conversations
• How courage can exist even when fear is present
• The importance of prayer and spiritual preparation
• What it means to use influence to help others
• Why silence can sometimes become a decision
• How personal testimony can become a tool for advocacy
• The responsibility leaders have to speak for those without access
• What it means to be positioned “for such a time as this”

At the heart of the episode is Esther 4:14:

“And who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

This conversation is for anyone who feels overlooked, uncertain about their purpose, afraid to step forward, or positioned somewhere they do not yet understand.

Sometimes purpose is not revealed when the door first opens.

Sometimes you understand why you were placed there only when the moment arrives that requires your voice, courage, and faith.
