For this special episode of Inpat-Expat, Fabio and Raniero interview NRG, Ukraine's only independent, amateur women's football team. Founded in Kyiv in 2003 by women who had never played professionally, NRG is first and foremost a family: a place where every woman can simply be herself, through the joy and sisterhood of the game.

They train twice a week, between one air-raid siren and the next. That locker room holds stories that seem written never to fit together: a war correspondent, players whose husbands are on the front, women who take the field in the morning after a night of ballistic missiles. Usually on this podcast we use football to talk about something else. Not this time: it was they who explained to us what football really is, and why you don't surrender. Not even on a pitch.

Per questo episodio speciale di Inpat-Expat, Fabio e Raniero intervistano NRG, l'unica squadra di calcio femminile amatoriale e indipendente d'Ucraina. Nata a Kyiv nel 2003 da ragazze che non avevano mai giocato a livello professionistico, NRG è prima di tutto una famiglia: un posto dove ogni donna può essere semplicemente sé stessa, attraverso la gioia e la sorellanza del gioco.

Si allenano due volte a settimana, tra un allarme aereo e l'altro. In quello spogliatoio convivono storie che sembrano scritte per non stare insieme: una corrispondente di guerra, giocatrici con i mariti al fronte, ragazze che la mattina scendono in campo dopo una notte di missili balistici. Di solito in questo podcast usiamo il calcio per parlare d'altro. Questa volta no: sono state loro a spiegarci cos'è davvero il calcio, e perché non ci si arrende. Nemmeno su un campo da gioco.
