概要
This episode recounts the dramatic hijacking of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961 in 1996, when three hijackers demanded to be flown to Australia despite the aircraft lacking enough fuel. After both engines failed over the Indian Ocean, the crippled airliner became a glider as Captain Leul Abate fought to keep it near the Comoros Islands.A struggle in the cockpit caused the autopilot to disengage, forcing the captain to attempt a desperate water landing near the shore. Although the aircraft shattered on impact, 50 people survived, aided by the captain’s efforts and the rapid response of local rescuers.
