  • FBU 626: 6 Ways to Remove All Risk and Get Prospects to Say Yes Now
    2026/07/15

There are six strategies coaches can use to craft offers that remove risk and drive prospects to say yes now instead of putting off a decision, and the key to all of them is packaging the offer so compellingly that objections dissolve naturally rather than needing to be argued away. The six strategies include: adding a bonus specifically designed to overcome the audience's most common objection; creating a strong price anchor or value stack that highlights savings; using a genuine future price increase to motivate immediate action; offering a limited-time discount or restructured payment plan that starts low; committing to keep coaching a client for free until they achieve a mutually agreed-upon result; and providing a no-questions-asked refund or money-back guarantee. But it's important to note that these tactics only work when they're truthful and rooted in genuine confidence in one's coaching. An irresistible, honest offer can transform hesitant prospects into confident buyers.

  • FBU 625: The Strategy I Use to Grow My Podcast + Generate Leads Using It
    2026/07/13

FitBizU is a niche podcast, but it is one of JillFit's most important lead generation engines. Long-form content has the power to build deep trust compared to fleeting short-form "candy" content, so we should all be creating it. Today, Jill shares her specific podcast funnel strategy: running $1/day ads on ten evergreen episodes turned into SEO blog posts with embedded audio, driving traffic to her website where listeners often binge episodes, subscribe, and passively absorb repeated mentions of her signature program, building familiarity and trust well before she ever opens the waitlist. There's always something to learn, so try studying other creators' launches through a "business lens," and see what you find.

  • FBU 624: The Inevitable Vulnerability of Business (Launching + Action)
    2026/07/08

Taking action in your business feels deeply vulnerable. There is an inherent risk and emotional exposure that comes with launching, promoting, or trying anything new in business, and it's normal to be scared as you move forward. Launches often feel like an emotional rollercoaster, especially if you're an online business owner who started strong but hit a wall of disappointment when results don't match your expectations. That's the "expectation gap," aka, the danger of getting stuck in passive "learning mode" instead of taking action. Tracking real metrics (conversion rates, leads, close rates) can help you separate genuine performance issues from unrealistic hopes. But ultimately, there are no guarantees in business—only the choice to keep showing up, invest in yourself, tolerate risk, and trust the process—because action, not certainty, is what actually moves a business forward.

  • FBU 623: Handling (Inevitable) Business Burnout
    2026/07/01

There is an inevitable burnout that hits fitness business owners, especially as summer arrives and the January-through-June sales push winds down. After 16 years running JillFit, Jill is no stranger to burn out—creative emptiness, low motivation, and anxiety that the ideas won't return. It's a normal, and thankfully temporary part of building something demanding, rather than a sign of failure. If you're trying to fix your burn out, it's important to recognize the distinction between passive inputs like mindless scrolling or TV that drain energy despite feeling relaxing, and active inputs like reading fiction, journaling, connecting with friends, and exploring ideas outside your niche that genuinely refill creative reserves and spark new lateral connections. Lean into curiosity and new learning without pressure to immediately monetize it, trusting that motivation and direction will return once you're moving toward something again.

  • FBU 622: Utilizing The Law of Trade-offs to Grow Your Business
    2026/06/29

The Law of Trade-Offs is the idea that because your time and mental energy are finite, every "yes" in your business is simultaneously a "no" to something else. Because of this trade off, business owners need to think beyond the comfort of one-on-one coaching, which offers fast but limited returns, and instead pursue higher-leverage models like group programs, courses, and automated evergreen funnels. You also have to push back on the tempting mindset of "just maintaining," because in this rapidly saturating online space, you have to actively grow just to stay in place, since client rosters naturally shrink and audiences go stale if you're not continuously building. Identify whatever decision you've been avoiding—the problem client, the underpriced package, the task you should have outsourced—and rip the band-aid off by consolidating, outsourcing, or deleting.

  • FBU 621: What Actually Makes A Great Online Coach with Danny Coleman
    2026/06/24

Today, Jill sits down with her brother Danny Coleman—founder of the Coaching Academy and host of the Leadership Chemistry podcast—to dig into what separates good online coaches from great ones. Danny walks through his 3R framework (Responsiveness, Recognition, and Real), emphasizing that genuine presence, specific encouragement, and authentic personality matter far more than credentials. They cover practical strategies for building rapport with online clients, while also tackling coaching burnout and how to manage energy by eliminating "extracurricular" coaching. Danny makes a counterintuitive case for cognitive empathy over emotional empathy, arguing that perspective-taking rather than feeling with clients actually makes coaches more effective and less drained.

  • FBU 620: A Simple Process for How to Start Offloading Your Inbox to an Assistant
    2026/06/22

Delegating your email inbox should be your first hire as an online fitness coach. Today, Jill shares three signs it's time to hand off your inbox: dreading it, feeling stuck working in your business instead of on it, and knowing you need to do it but putting it off. There is a practical 8–12 week onboarding system you can try: the first few weeks have your new assistant simply shadowing you by reading your sent folder and building response templates around the three to five most common email "buckets" (password resets, billing questions, coaching inquiries, etc.); the next phase has them handling the easy stuff while flagging trickier emails for you; and finally they take over the inbox almost entirely, responding in their own voice while you periodically review their sent replies. It doesn't have to be scary, especially if you hire someone resourceful, empathetic, and ideally familiar with your brand—and trust them enough to give them real ownership of the role.

  • FBU 619: The Pygmalion Effect + Holding Clients to a High Standard
    2026/06/17

Today, Jill explores the Pygmalion effect—the psychological principle that high expectations lead to better performance—and how it applies to coaching, team leadership, and even parenting. Treating people as more capable than they believe themselves to be is one of the most powerful tools a leader has. The opposite is also true: named the Golem effect, having low expectations of someone can tank performance or create client dependency through overly prescriptive meal plans or 24/7 availability. The bottom line is, whether you're leading a team, coaching clients, or raising kids, believing in people before they believe in themselves is what gives them permission to rise.
