- Jessica Price's final ledger entry is dated December 27, 1882 and reads "meeting with 'B' about Bench Creek water access"; the ledger entries after December 28 are blank.
- The Registry filing copy of the transfer was already on file when investigator Steven Burns checked the Registry on January 10, 1883, yet no after-hours entry appears in the Registry's logbook for December 28.
- Locksmith Henry Voss found fresh scoring on the Registry's rear delivery door bolt housing, indicating a later-made tool was used to open it; Leon Bishop's warehouse faces that alley across roughly forty yards.
