Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath have said goodbye more times than some bands have released albums. From the original 1978 split to the "Never Say Die" tour that lived up to its name, through solo farewell runs, reunion victory laps, and the genuinely final "Back to the Beginning" show at Villa Park in July 2025 , this episode traces the long, winding history of metal's most persistent goodbyes.

But is it really over? With Sharon and Jack Osbourne confirming Ozzfest's return to Villa Park in 2027 , followed by a North American edition , I dig into what a farewell means when the festival that built modern metal is gearing up for a second act. Details are still trickling out, but the Prince of Darkness's story clearly isn't done being told.

Tune in for the full rundown of Sabbath's serial swan songs, and where Ozzfest goes from here.

I was there on the 2nd night of this in June. Here's 40 mins of my thoughts around the whole thing - enjoy.

Welcome to the very first episode of the podcast.

In this debut episode, I introduce myself, explain why I've decided to start a heavy metal podcast, and share the story of how a kid from Dublin fell headfirst into the world of metal.

From discovering my first bands and albums to the records that shaped my musical identity, I take a trip back through the moments that turned casual listening into a lifelong obsession.

Whether you're a lifelong metalhead, someone who grew up in the golden age of thrash, or you're just beginning your own journey into heavy music, this episode is all about where it starts—the spark that turns into a passion.

Future episodes will feature album discussions, artist spotlights, stories from metal history, and conversations about the music that continues to inspire generations of fans.

Thanks for joining me on the journey.

The greatest band that never was! :)
