  • #72: Not Good Enough: Where That Voice Came From and Why It Isn’t True [Summer of the Self Series]
    2026/07/14

Do you have a “not good enough” voice? Most of us do and most of us spend a lot more time listening to it than questioning it.

In this episode of the Summer of the Self series, we’re looking at one of the most common ways the mind keeps us stuck: the story of not good enough. Where it came from, why it isn’t the whole truth, and what to do when you catch yourself in it.

I’m sharing a simple tool called The Truth Is, a journaling and reflection activity that invites you to look at the other side of the story. Not to ignore the negative, but to build the habit of also seeing what’s actually true about you and what you’ve already accomplished.

Because most of us are much better at noticing what we haven’t done than celebrating what we have and that imbalance is worth looking at.

This week’s invitation: name your story, then ask yourself… what is another truth?

  • #71: Who Am I Really: The Self Beneath the Roles You Play Every Day [Summer of the Self Series]
    2026/07/07

Mother. Leader. Partner. Colleague. Caregiver. Friend.

How many roles are you playing right now and when did you last check in on the person underneath all of them?

In this episode of the Summer of the Self series, we’re exploring one of the biggest questions in any personal growth journey: who am I really?

It’s easy to lose yourself in the roles you play. The identity of parent, the identity of leader, the identity of whatever role has felt most important lately and then one day you look up and ask: is this the life I really planned? Is this what I actually want?

I’m sharing how conditioning shapes the roles we develop, why it’s so easy to mistake a role for your whole identity (especially as a parent), and two simple tools for self discovery.

    Plus this week’s reflection prompts:

    • What are the roles you play in your life?
    • Who are you separate from these roles?

  • #70: How to Be Yourself Beyond the Expectations and Stories You Inherited
    2026/06/30

Have you ever stopped and asked yourself: is this actually me, or was I taught this?

Most of what we believe about ourselves including what we deserve, how we’re supposed to act, what’s possible for us, etc… didn’t come from us. It came from family, school, workplaces, society, and a thousand small moments where we absorbed other people’s expectations without realizing it.

It’s called conditioning. And in this episode, the second in the Summer of the Self series, we’re looking at where it comes from and how to start spotting it in your own life.

From money beliefs passed down from parents, to workplace rules about emotions, to the pervasive idea that taking time for yourself as a mother is selfish, conditioning is everywhere. The good news is that awareness is the first step to moving beyond it.

This week’s reflection prompt: pick one belief you’ve been carrying for a long time and ask yourself… where did it actually come from? Does it still serve you?
