#38 on the bad list is what you might call a Smolensk situation, except the propaganda film is Hungarian this time and it wasn't designed to cast blame on another country for a plane crash, it was designed to influence an election. Listen as we get into Hungarian politics (a little) and schlocky film (a lot) and don't bother trying to find or watch this movie, you'd just hate yourself anyway. Read an article about it somewhere then listen to this episode and learn slightly more (and somehow become slightly dumber along with us)

For #39 on the good list....well this one is kind of awkward. Not just because we told Luke the wrong number and he introduced it as #40. Luc Besson has a whole weird thing which is explored here but maybe he's just Fr*nch. Gary Oldman, Danny Aiello, and a bunch of dubbed French guys are here too, and a lot of guns. We talk about a lot of things that are uncomfortable, like Gary Oldman walking on his knees in the movie Tiptoes.

#39 on the bad list ain't your daddy's Rollerball, it's less violent, oh and also it doesn't take place as far into the future, and it doesn't have someone asking a giant computer for information and it doesn't have guns that make trees explode. Anyway we're talking about the remake that got John McTiernan sent to prison for perjury about wiretapping hollywood producers along with our friend Mike Richards (Mission Log: The Orville, Talkin' Ted) and we get in a lot of talk about the original 1975 classic as well, and just extreme sports in general. Well the sports in this version aren't very extreme. One guy almost dies, kinda. Oh and some people get shot and Jean Reno is very scary.

Alien - they say it's structural perfection's matched only by its hostility.
Even artificial persons are impressed.
It preys on men.
Don't need no special suit don't need no nukes
And don't need no artillery to rip right through your chest.
Aliens gestate inside a living human host and have some concentrated acid for blood
They mostly come at night. Mostly.
Their fate depends on whether there's an airlock, whether they're in space, or whether there's a chick who's just to fast to be cut. But their foes have come to fight. Only…

John Arminio (Popcorn Eschaton) joins us for #40 on the good list and frankly we all think it should be higher.

For #40 on the bad list we have a 2018 autobiographical film about a Turkish Youtuber whose career started a few years earlier, so he struck while the iron was hot, to the point where he had to put the making of the movie in the movie itself because otherwise he would've run out of material. But that's only part of the story, Mark did way too much digging on the guy and it was pretty easy to find where all the one star reviews came from, we talk about that, but also our own Youtube habits and Youtube itself, and how much of the film really was imagination or reality.

It's Luke's birthday movie, and it's not just about this 1986 OVA about the first Super Mario Bros game, we talk about ALL the other Super Mario Bros movies as well, from 1993, 2023, and 2026, and we give our personal rankings. We're up to #41 on the good list, where the real monsters are behind the camera. Oh and also in front of it. That's not all we talk about here, there's a lot good things about this film and we talk a lot about deception and plot twists although we're pretty mixed on the twist in this film itself. Is Keyser Soze even a person at all? Also yes we talk about X-Men.

#41 on the bad list is the oldest film on the bad list (1964), and it's a Christmas movie! About aliens! Yeah it's a weird one that you've probably already heard of from MST3K or on the cover of a DVD, we talk about how it's surprisingly fun and has surprisingly decent elements, and of course, we talk about Christmas movies in general. In August! Well you can always come back and listen to it again in a few months, this is just where it fell on the list. We won't have another bad list movie from the 60's for a long time so have a groovy time while you still can.
